what is busy bodies?

Busy Bodies is a crowdfunded group project revolving around the titular name, which is interpreted in many ways through the content on the pages within. This publication was funded by supportive backers on Kickstarter with a budget of $1200, which was surpassed with an excess of ~$500, and copies were printed and sent to everyone who backed the project.

My role was to design two double page spreads (as everyone else in my class did), but I also had the privilege of creating the book’s cover independently. I also worked alongside others on the editorial team to bring the project to life and turn it into something tangible.

The two spreads I created are based on the idea of being a busy body in the sense of having a lot to do, and decided to show that through city photography and the motion created by lights. With long exposure techniques, I was able to capture these movements from moving vehicles and people.

NOTE: The logo used in the cover and all other designs was designed by colleague Ren Fuji.
