vintage travel poster
This project’s aim was to create a vintage style travel poster of a heritage building in Melbourne using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. The building I selected was Pran Central Shopping Centre located in Prahran, due to its beautiful architecture - more specifically, the angles and compositions to be explored. I’m happy with the result, and believe that it captures the style effectively.
melbourne sketchbook
This Melbourne sketchbook project revolves around the idea of placemaking, and how us Melburnians balance our lives between our small living spaces and individual means of escape.
Through these 4 illustrative pages, I tell a story of escape by highlighting the macro and micro scale of the city, with a gradual increase in space and scale as you flip through.
Mixed media was used to create the piece, including pencil, fine liner and marker illustration, ink marks and digital manipulation to bring it all together into a cohesive, linear story.
hikoki power tool
The goal for this project was to create a realistic looking digital graphic illustration of an existing power tool using tools within Adobe Illustrator, and then placed into a press advertisement for a Bunnings catalog focusing on family DIY projects.
The power tool I chose to produce a graphic for was one of Hikoki’s circular saws, as it features a range of shapes and textures, and it provided a challenge for me due to its complexity. The entire artwork was produced using complex custom shapes and gradients in Illustrator.
physical art
During the first semester of my Diploma at RMIT, a wide range of physically drawn artworks were produced using various techniques. Here, I’ve compiled a few of the ones I’m most proud of.
All artworks were illustrated/painted from life using studio time.
digital publishing
Here’s a couple of digital illustrations I made for a class to be published on Adobe Stock using a range of vector art techniques. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created these two compositions based around public transport modes in Melbourne’s metro system.
The style I chose to adapt was primarily a retro airbrush style which can be seen in the grainy textures, gradients and the shiny highlights, along with the simple shapes used.
